NAME; Cobalt Shadow of the Moon {Cobalt}
AGE; 16 moons
GENDER; Female
TRIBE; Tribe of Melting Snow
RANK; Guardian
RELATIONS; {none known}
QUICK DESCRIPTION; A young female half-wolf with a lean frame, powerful hindquarters, and a narrow snout. Her piercing cobalt blue eyes and dark blue coat make her eerie in appearance.
PICTURE;
PERSONALITY;
(still working here)
Although she has a very strong connection to the Tribe of Gleaming Moon, she chose the path of a Guardian; she would rather protect and defend her Tribe from injury rather than patch them up afterward. She was once heard saying jokingly to the medicine wolf, "I would rather have the wings to fly than the herbs to heal me when I fall."
PAST;
Cobalt was born of a dog and a wolf, spending her early moons in the care of her doggypet mother. Her father, an unknown wolf, vanished shortly after her birth; all she remembers of him is the smell of fresh pine and cold snow his coat carried and the large paw prints he left as he abandoned her, her brother, and her mother. Mother, an Alaskan malamute with a dangerous temper, ran the siblings out as soon as they could trap snow hares and ptarmigans. Working together, the barely four-moon-old pups stayed alive and well, living off mostly carrion and garbage while staying out of sight of wolves and dogs.
One night, as the pair scavenged for food near a dump, they crossed paths with a mother bear and her young cub. Caught in between the two enormous animals, the half-wolves knew they were in major trouble. They both attempted to run, but Cobalt's brother, Night, was much slower and was killed by the huge bear in one swipe of her paw. Terrified, Cobalt kept running, leaving her brother's broken body behind her as the bear continued to give chase. Blinded by fear, grief, and the exhaustion of running what seemed like many miles, the pup lost her footing and tumbled into a fairly deep ravine, losing consciousness.
When Cobalt awoke, she was surrounded by wolves, their noses poking and prodding her gently and their words humming around her. Her body was bloodied and bruised from the fall, but she recovered quickly and became a to-be, learning rapidly and eagerly from her mentor. On the day she was finally named a Guardian, Cobalt could feel her brother's spirit with her.
