!--*High Position Auditions*--!
information
If you want to audition for a high position, copy and fill out the form below. Remember that it's not 100% sure that you'll get a high position, so just be aware...
Once you post your audition, it shall sit for a total of 7 days. After seven days, if your character has gone unopposed (another person auditioning for the same position) and the try-out looks acceptable, then your character will be accepted as that high position. If it is opposed, then after seven days (to ensure the amount of opposers) a poll will be set up, where members can vote. The poll will have a lock date, and once locked, the victor gets the position.

Wolf: ShriekLink to Bio: our-lovely-demise.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=creation&action=display&thread=22&page=1Position: Alpha She-WolfTribe: Tribe of Frozen MountainThe Quest: Let's begin, shall we?
...
It never occured to me why creatures feared the night. It was one of the most beautiful creations that I have ever witnessed. I rose my muzzle to the sky and watched as a star flashed by, creating a bright white light among the dark. A shooting star, I think as a small smile graces my lips. It had been a long time since I have seen one of those. I wonder if anyone else had seen it? I glance down at the dens. Soft snores escape from the to-be's den along with some stifled whinning from the nursery. My smile broadenes. Dappled had just had her pups not too long ago. She has yet to name them and I cannot help but wonder what their names would be. Becoming a mother is such a joy and yet a burden as well. However, I have no fears for Winter Grace. I know that she will handle motherhood with dignity and pride just as she always has.
I turn away from the nursery and glance upward toward the night sky once more. Everything up there seems so sincere, so tranquil. A soft cloud of grey covers the moon partially which makes the earth seem a little more dark. A little more scary. I watch the cloud with interest until something catches my attention. I blink and turn my head toward the scent, my ears perked up. Fire? The word is at the tip of my tongue but I knew I had to be sure. There were times when the night played tricks on me and I am not the type of wolf to engage in such games. My tail lashes to the side as I peer into the night. That's when I see it. It isn't much but it is there in the distance. Smoke.
The adrenalin in my body has spiked. I raise my muzzle to the moon and howl. My cry cuts into the silence like a knife. "FIRE!" I howl as I leap down off the high rock. The scent is becoming stronger and I knew it would not be long until it reached our camp. The first cats to stumble out are Snowy Owl and Tiger Streak, to faithful guardians. "Snowy Owl," I call her name first, my voice stern but calm. "Escort the to-be's out to the safe area, make sure no one is left behind." I give her a curt nod as she is off to the to-be's den without another moments hesitation. "Tiger Streak," I turn to address the older guardian. "Get the elders out safely, grab extra guardians if you need to," I add before I bolt to the healers den. There is no doubt in my mind that Herbal Snow is up. I burst in and see her snow white coat. "A fire is coming," I say hurriedly. "Save what you can and I'll sent a guardian to help you collect. Stay calm but remember, its coming," I add seriously before I dart away into the shadows. The stentch of the fire and smoke is now burning my nostrils. I know it will not be long until the fire arrives.
I rolled my shoulders in a backward motion until it gave a satisfying pop. It is my duty as the Alpha female of this tribe to get them all to safety and that is exactly what I am going to do. "Ember!" I call out to my brother who is just now exiting the guardian's den. "Help Herbal Snow and then make sure she makes it out of the den and out to the safe zone. You are there to aide her and to make sure you make it safely. No disputes I should hope," I hold his gaze for a heartbeat before I am off to the to-be den. A small weight lifts from my chest as I see it is empty. I turn tail and run toward the nursery when I hear my name rip through the silence.
"She refuses to leave, there is nothing I can do. She will not budge," Tiger Streak says curtly. Behind him I see the fearful eyes of Flame and Quiet. I take a deep breath before I nod. "Give me a moment. The fire has not reached us yet," I add to soothe the elders nerves. Come on Icy Heart... I think to myself. I knew it would be her huddled all alone in her den. She had always been stubborn, ever since I have known her. "Icy Heart," I begin but she cuts me off.
"I am staying here. This is my tribe and this is my home. Let the flames have me. I am ready!" She says, her voice sounds final but I do not listen to her. She is stubborn by nature and resists change. I have known this my whole life but time is running out. I can almost feel my tribe slipping away... I shake my head, clear my thoughts, and lay down next to her. She is shaking subtly and her lips form a hard line. She refuses to meet my gaze.
"Are you ready for the flames to tear into your fur? Are you ready for the smoke that will clog your lungs? Are you ready to beg for death to come when your body is consumed in flames? When your flesh is burned away and yet you are still alive gasping for breath, begging for death. Are-"
"ENOUGH!" Icy Heart snaps and in an instant she is up on her paws. She is shaking and I press against her side as I lead her out to Flame, Quiet, and Tiger Streak. "She is ready to go. I will be there shortly," I add as Flame and Quiet flank their dear friend on either side and Tiger Streak leads them out to the safe zone. I turn away and dash toward the nursery, I can hear sniffling and yelping but it is quiet, almost too quiet to hear.
"Dappled," I say quietly. "We must leave."
"I know, but I am weak... My legs... I am so tired..." Her voice is breathy and I know that she is not in good condition.
"I know, I know. Hush," I whisper and press my muzzle to hers. "It will be alright. The fire is not here quite yet and eveyone else is heading to the safe zone. Can you walk?" I ask and I watch as she stands. Her legs are shaking but she can still hold herself. FOr how long I do not know and I do not ask. Instead I grab the closest pup and flick my tail for Dappled to follow. I watch her carefully with my keen eyes as she grabs the smallest pup in her mouth. At first I feared that she would not be able to make it, that the weight was too great. However, she recovers her balance and flanks me. The pup still secure in her strong jaws, her eyes are shining with defiance. That's when I know that we will be alright, that Dappled will be strong enough for now.
I hurry along just as the fire has reached camp. I can feel the heat of the flames on my fur but I do not comment. I just continue onward, my pace never increasing and I think Dappled feels reassurred. I do not hurry her but I continuously watch her. Finally I see the others. The scent of smoke is behind me know and I no longer feel the flames at my heels. I see the eager gazes of Snowy Owl and Tiger Streak as they watch Dappled and I come into the clearing. Tiger Streak races to aide his mate and I give him the pup. He gives me a nod of thanks before walking beside Dappled. I smile as I watch them, their tails twining together. Carefully I scan the faces of my tribe members and I see everyone that should be here. Herbal Snow is there with my brother, the to-be's are all accounted for, the guardians, mothers, elders, and pups are all there shaking against the cold.
The weight lifts from my shoulders and I let out a long sigh. We are all safe for now. I glance over toward camp, I can still see the smoke but it is not progressing toward us. In fact, the fire seems to be dwindling down. Dispercing into the air. I hope that the fire dies down shortly so we can return to camp and fix what needed to be fixed. I do not like being caught off guard and I did not even want to think what it would be like if another Tribe decided to attack at this moment. I look over at my huddled tribe and I cannot stop the smile from appearing on my face. They are all safe, bundled together. "We are safe, Tribe members. We are safe," I say my voice calm. "The fire seems to be dying down but everyone please be on high alert just in case. Nature has a way of bending the rules," I add quietly as I join them. Some of them whisper thanks and I nod politely but in reality, I do not need such thanks. I am the leader and this is what I am here for. This is my duty and they should be able to count on me. I smile back at them and settle myself beside Ember, my tail curling around my body. I watch the smoke quietly all the while listening to the quiet murmurs of my tribe.
...
I never rest that night. I never allow myself to sleep. It is my duty to watch over my tribe even at my own expence. The sun had risen and dawn had finally come. Today was a new day, a new beginning.

Thank you both for auditioning! However, just to make sure that you know--the current plot is going to call very promising activity from the Tribe of Frozen Rain leader. ^^ Zarza, your audition will be taken in full consideration once the audition itself is complete. Yet, your challenge is acknowledged.

Wolf:
Winter Blessing Link to Bio:
( PROFILE ) Position:
Beta She-Wolf Tribe:
The Tribe of Frozen Mountain The Quest:
The land had gone quiet, as night would be coming soon and even the birds had silenced. The mothers and their pups were sleeping in the den and many of the young ’to-be’s were laughing and cutting up outside the den as normal. They ended staying up late during the evenings and Winter Blessing had to stay up with them, since she was Beta She-Wolf. Someone had to stay up with those trouble makers and she always wanted the alpha to be taken care of. As she set near the large boulder beside the den entrance, something was wrong, very, very wrong. She stood once again, gaining the interest of the young wolves and a few guardians. ”Fire… Don’t panic, that is what we don’t need.” Winter turned towards the scent and could see the glow against some clouds. I growled slightly and trotted over towards the to-bes. ”You to-bes… Go inside and help the mothers with the pups…” She then turned to two guardians. ”Black Hawk, Jericho… Go inside the nursery… There is a young mother, weak from labor with two pups. Help her with them and get her out… Go to the river and cross at the mighty log.” They nodded to her and she went in to the get the alpha.
A few elder wolves were there and Winter woke the Alphas. ”Fire… Two guardians and the to-bes are helping the mothers and pups…” They nodded to me and instructed the others to head out. I went out and found three more Guardians. ”Help the elders.” They began to help the elders, but one began to give trouble, one who did not want to leave. She growled slightly and went into the den, the smell of smoke was growing thicker. ”Elder, we must go, or you will surely die.” He growled and snapped at Winter quickly. She hated to do what she was about to do, but instructed the guardian to wait for her outside. She grabbed pushed the elder out, though weak, he fought, but finally moved. The guardian was there to help Winter once he was out. The Alpha were with the others and she had to handle the elder with the guardian. ”Keep him between us, we have to catch up.” The elder complained, how he did not want to leave, but Winter was not leaving him behind, she would never do such a thing.
She smelt thicker smoke, but soon heard the river. As they got to the edge, she instructed both the elder and guardian to drink. The pack had already made it to the other side, she could see them. She drank quickly and snapped the two back towards the log. She could smell smoke was thick, she let the guardian and elder on first and then followed closely behind. She turned back to see flame licking at the edge of the forest and her eyes widened as she followed flame to a dead pine that was tipping. ”Move!” She got the guardian’s attention and he pulled as she pushed the elder to the other side of log and soon off on the other side. She panted slightly and watched as the pine fell, hitting the log hard and causing it to fall into the river.
Everyone was safe, but she was not going to sleep, just incase the fire decided to jump the river.
